Regression testing is a re-test that ensures any recent changes to the software do not adversely impact any of the functional features in a program. In an Agile testing environment, testing is continuous. All Agile team members, including developers, Agile testers, and other roles, participate in the testing sequences as part of the culture of continuous improvement.^{Footnote 7}

Exploratory testing is a style of Agile software testing that emphasizes the tester's autonomy, skill, and creativity. It differs from scripted testing by allowing mixed test activities throughout the project rather than a fixed sequence or phase. This is also known as waterfall testing. This approach recognizes the supportive nature of various techniques and promotes the use of multiple testing approaches rather than a rigid test plan. Agile practices for developers share a similar emphasis on these qualities.^{Footnote 8}

User acceptance testing (UAT) is an integral phase of the testing phase where user stakeholders evaluate whether an application or feature meets their needs. Here, the team identifies testing metrics in Agile and appropriate performance indicators. This is typically the final phase of software development.^{Footnote 9}

Scrum is a framework for managing product development and knowledge work. Through empirical reasoning, Scrum can help Agile teams in hypothesizing, experimenting, and reflecting to gain insight. Scrum can work with the Agile methodology, helping testing teams collaborate through continuous feedback by providing a framework for ideation and reasoning.^{Footnote 10}

The Agile continuous testing life cycle begins with test planning and design, where the team gathers information from stakeholders, identifies performance indicators, and designs tests with pass/fail criteria. The actual tests are continuous with interval reviews by the team. The second phase is when the team reviews testing data to determine if software features are ready to go live. The final stage is the agility review, which involves progress reviews with stakeholders and final reviews and approvals of features.

Agile is a mindset; Scrum is a framework. These two concepts go hand-in-hand to help software developers maintain focus on continuous improvement as they create software. Agile includes a set of 12 guiding principles that promote collaboration, iteration, and flexibility through the development process. Scrum is a cyclical process that facilitates the exchange of feedback within a bigger process.^{Footnote 11}
